Do both you and your friends drink a case or even more every weekend? Do you find yourself settling for the inexpensive brands other than what you really want to save some cash? If this describes the situation then why wouldn’t you be trying to find an affordable choice to still get the better brews at much more reasonable prices? Relax; I’m not referring to finding beer which has “dropped off the back of the truck”! I’m talking about brewing your own beer at home. Becoming a home brewer is not all that hard, (if you are able to boil water, you can make beer), and it is actually a fun and legal hobby.

You are probably considering just what you will need to begin. My recommendation would be to check out a few of the online beer sites and check out the home brew beer kits. Each of the large retailers offer kits for the first time brewer that come with enough equipment to effectively create beer five gallons at a time (that’s more than 50 12 oz. cans) After you have successfully brewed your second batch you are saving cash over buying your beer in the local supermarket. When you’ve finished your third, you’ll be saving all the more.

Because it is not practical to drink beer out of five gallon buckets you will also need bottles to put your beer in. The most economical method is to save bottles and recycle them but they can not be the kind with twist off tops! You have to use bottles which use the other kind of cap because it keeps air outside the beer much better. Don’t worry, fresh caps plus a capping device generally come along with the beer kit. You should also use bottles which are brown or amber colored because they protect the beer from Ultra violet light. Clear and green bottles don’t.

You’ll swiftly find that the entertaining part of making beer is actually being able to experiment with the recipes. The online beer ingredient and hardware vendors provide many different recipes and each one can be “tweaked” just a bit to make it special to you alone. Soon You will be confident enough to brew ales, lagers, light beer or dark beer. The options are almost endless.

And, as an added treat, the identical equipment and procedures can also be utilized to brew hard cider also. Perfect for the winter evenings!

If you are a beer lover, you actually ought to seriously consider brewing you own beer at home.

Rather than researching the online beer sites for information about how to properly home brew beer, download the eBook Beer Brew Bible found at Brew Beer Today.com.Beer Brew Bible is low-priced, has a money back guarantee, and offers a great deal of information on how to best enjoy your home brewing experience.
While you are visiting be sure to read about popular beer glasses to serve your home brew in.

Making homemade wine from Fruit Juice is probably the easiest and cheapest method of making wine, and with very little fuss too. I am sure if this is your first time you will be very surprised just how easy it is to do.

Even if you have very little experience of home wine-making, using fruit juice is excellent way to begin your career as a home brewer, and you can find many choices of ingredients from most supermarkets or local shops.

The first important thing to ensure is that you have all the neccesary tools, implements and ingredients close to hand, namely one demijohn, a funnel, a bubbler, some wine yeast and yeast nutrient.

As we are making wine from fruit juice, you will need two litres of your favoured juice (make sure it has no additives and is made from 100% fruit), plus two litres of grape juice (white for fruits like apple or peach, or red if you are making strawberry or blackcurrant wine for example). The only other necessity is one kilo of granulated sugar.

With all this around you, you are now ready to start brewing. I am going to presume that you have already sterilised your demijohn and equipment before you started. There is no point even beginning to make wine if it could all be ruined by one stray droplet of vinegar in the air.

Okay so we will start by pouring the two litres of grape juice into the demijohn (the funnel makes it a lot easier!). While you are doing that you could have the kettle on to boil, ready for you to dissolve the sugar.

You can then put the sugar into a measuring jug or a large bowl. Pour the boiling water over it and stir vigourously until it is mostly mixed into liquid form (the result is called “inverted” sugar, and it makes it easier for the yeast to digest). Try to use as little boiling water as possible so as to leave more room for the fruit juice in the end.

Pour this inverted sugar into the demijohn via the funnel, and then shake it long and hard to ensure it is as mixed as possible. Then add one of the two litres of fruit juice, and then shake it some more!

When you are happy that there is no thick layer of sugar on the bottom of the demijohn, you are now ready to add a teaspoon of wine yeast (some yeasts need to be prepared in a cup beforehand to make it into a “must”, but if you get “super wine yeast”, it can go straight into the demijohn). You can also add a bit of yeast nutrient now to encourage it to brew quicker.

And basically that is the end of the first days work. you then put your (sterilised) airlock on top of the demijohn, and leave it in a warm place for a few days. It should start bubbling within the first 24 hours or so.

After a few days the initial vigorous bubbling will die down, and you can then top the demijohn up to the gallon mark with the other litre of fruit juice. Add another spoon of yeast nutrient and then put it away and forget about for a month or two, and it will be ready to bottle by then.

Enjoy!

Before we get into serius business do you want to smile?

What not to say to the nice policeman:
I can’t reach my license unless you hold my beer.

No funny? I am sorry. Let’s begin….

If you are interested in starting a home microbrewery and concocting your own beer recipe, I would recommend not starting from scratch. Although an experienced brewer would prefer to have the freedom of choosing their own ingredients, someone who has never ventured down the road before will be better off purchasing a pre-packaged set. This guarantees that you won’t miss anything on the shopping list, and you will have quality products to start with.

The number one thing to remember in choosing a home microbrewery kit is that you want to buy a kit that includes all ingredients. This requires a bit of research so that you are aware of the necessary materials. There are several online resources detailing the process and materials for brewing beer at home, and these will help you make a checklist of items that should be included in your kit.

Also, when choosing your kit, make sure you know what kind of beer you want to brew. There are different kits for different lagers or ales, whether pale ales, ports, dark brews, brown ales, or whatever else may suit your taste buds. Also, determine the amount of ingredients included in the home microbrewery kit; most recipes are geared for five gallon batches, so make sure that, if the kit you purchase contains ingredients for smaller batches, you can either reduce the recipe or purchase more than one kit.

When buying online, try to find a reputable source. There are plenty of established companies to purchase a home microbrewery kit from, so don’t try to save a buck or two by getting your kit from a little known or unknown source. Compare prices before making a purchase. Don’t overpay. With all the available sources for materials, you should seek out the best deal. Be prepared – this could take a little time.

The utensils you use with your kit don’t have to be anything special, either. Although with modern advances, there are new and improved methods to home brewing, the standard five gallon bucket with a covering cloth that were used in the days of prohibition will work just as well. If you aren’t sure you wish to continue this hobby in the future and simply want to give it a go, there is no need to purchase an expensive airlock. So, give it a go, and enjoy your favorite beer without ever leaving your house!

Everyone knows the feeling. You wake up feeling groggy and wooly-headed. You KNOW you shouldn’t have had that last drink (or three!), but you were having such a good time…….

So you search in the medicine cupboards, nursing your head so it doesn’t wobble too much, but there are no paracetamol or Nurofen, or aspirin, in fact nothing that will help you. What do you do?

Well first of all, while you are at the cupboard, check to see if you have any vitamin tablets around, if so take some, and specifically try to find some Vitamin C. Alcohol can seriously deplete your Vitamin C levels and they need building back up again. Vitamins B & A will probably need a little top-up too if it’s been a heavy night.

Next you have to listen to your body. To start with it will be craving liquids. Dehydration through alcohol is the primary cause of hangover headaches. Put the kettle on. While you are waiting have a look in the fridge for a fizzy drink, preferably Cola as it has a bit of caffeine to give you a boost as well as the liquid content, even the bubbles can help with the nausea.

If no Cola, then look for some pure orange or tomato juice, these are also high in Vitamin C and can quickly get your metabolism going again.

Ok, the kettles boiled. Get a strong coffee for the extra caffeine, and stick the toaster on for a bit of something in your stomach. You may not feel like eating but your body will need something to mop up the extra toxins left in the body. It is best to eat it dry if the nausea is at a high level, and you don’t want to irritate it.

Another brilliant remedy is a banana. These are rich in potassium, and having suffered from low levels myself recently i can tell you that you will feel bad all day if you don’t get your potassium levels up. It needs topping up every day anyway, but if you’ve been dehydrated and visiting the toilet a lot, potassium will have leaked out wholesale. Get that banana down you.

If you have done all that, and managed to keep it all in your stomach long enough to do it some good, you should be on your way to recovery. If you are lucky enough to have the day off from work, you will probably need to lie down again.

Maybe the most relaxing thing would be a nice hot bath. Lie Back with your eyes shut and let your body recover. If your bathroom has a bright light, turn it off and light a candle to give your eyes a rest. Keep a pint of water beside you and keep taking gulps to replace all that lost liquid, and by the time the water has cooled down you should be right as rain and ready to face the world again!

If you are going to make your own beer then your biggest worry has to be that something will go wrong and the whole brew will be ruined. What can you do to reduce the chances of that happening to almost zero? The answer could be very simple…

Who Likes A Challenge?

OK, sometimes a challenge is good. It can stretch us, and if the task is that bit more difficult then the satisfaction in getting a good result is all the greater. But it’s all a matter of degree. If the odds are so stacked against you that the chances of failure are seriously high, then that can kind of take away the enjoyment.

It’s like that with home brewing. A little difficulty or ‘challenge’ might be OK, but too much and it can ruin the hobby, and your brew.

And let’s face it, the processes in home brewing the traditional way can be quite complicated. All that preparing the ingredients, malting your grains, mixing at different stages, transferring between containers etc … It’s a long, drawn out business that is full of risks. And any mistake can potentially ruin everything.

Why Take The Risk?

So, if there’s a good alternative why take the risk of failure? Why pour all your time and effort into something that is hard work and can so easily go wrong?

You see, the sort of home brewing kits you can get these days make the whole operation so much easier. Compared to the traditional method, with kits there’s really very little you have to do. Each malt kit (for whichever type of beer you choose) comes ready prepared; you just add the odd extra ingredient, mix with water, and leave to ferment.

Quality and Reliability

But, how about the quality with kits? After all, there’s no point taking the easy route if all you can get is second rate beer. Thankfully, with kits nowadays there is absolutely no compromise on quality. You can achieve the most delicious results — everything that homebrewed beer is renowned for.

And what’s more, you can achieve top results with incredible reliability. With kits the process is made so easy that virtually all the risk is taken away, so you can brew with confidence — instead of with worry.

Sure, you can get great results the traditional way also, but not with the same reliability unless you are already an expert. No, if you take the traditional route you will need to know what you are doing or be prepared for a lot of trial and error and learning the hard way. That’s not what most people are looking for in a hobby.

Sadly, traditional home brewing can be full of disappointment. It’s bad enough that one little mistake in a long sequence of steps can ruin the whole brew, but what’s worse is that you might not realize it till quite some time later…

… How quickly eager anticipation can turn into bitter disappointment! Have you read all those posts in the forums from people agonizing over why their brew isn’t looking right? There’s no need to suffer like that.

Instead — Relax and Enjoy

Instead of worrying over how your brew is going to turn out, when you use kits you can relax and enjoy yourself because you can be confident in the result — top quality beer, time after time. And all with minimum work!

Oh, and by the way you can really impress your friends with this — they won’t know how easy it was, but each week you can bring out a top quality homebrewed beer of your own. All the favorite varieties are available with kits, and you can even experiment with your own original flavors and versions. This is how the hobby should be — easy, fun and delicious!

If you’re just getting started in home beer brewing you probably don’t have much experience on shopping for brewing supplies and materials. Before you spend money finding out what things you don’t like or don’t need it’s probably best for you to start with a good home beer brewing kit. The right kit will enable you to begin the right way and will help you appreciate the art of home beer brewing.

Probably the best thing about a home beer brewing kit is it comes with all the things that you need to produce your own first beer without the need to spend time figuring out what ingredients or supplies you’ll need. As you get more experienced that are more familiar with what goes in to brewing beer you will be able to shop for these materials and ingredients individually.

Finding a Good Home Beer Brewing Kit

Before you hop online or make a trip to the store to get a home beer brewing kit take a little time to research the things that you need and the beer flavors you might like. You might be looking at brewing your own beer because you have a friend who was already brewing their own beer; a good first step would be to talk with that person and ask for advice.

If nobody you know is already brewing their own beer you might consider making a trip to a supply store in your area and talking with the staff there. Most people who brought their own beer are quite willing to share their knowledge and experience which shouldn’t be hard to get a lot of information in a little bit of time. Chances are pretty good you could even end up seeing a demonstration on how they make their own beer. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to bring along a notebook and take notes, paying close attention to how the equipment is being used. The more you know up front the better your selection will be when you get your own home beer brewing kit.

Most good home beer brewing kits contain all the ingredients and materials you will need to bring your first batch of beer. These kits will also contain instructions and are usually illustrated and are very easy to follow.

If the first batch that you burn takes a little funny, or even taste awful, don’t give up! Like most things that are worthwhile learning to make good beer takes time and patience. A lot of beginners don’t really get the taste right on their first brew or even their first few tries. But almost all keep trying to find the experience very fun and rewarding.

With just a little practice you can be making some great tasting beer quickly.

Paris Hilton has made a video for a new beer in Brazil called Devassa (which means ‘very blonde’ apparently), but it is being reported that the authorities in the South American country are trying to get it banned because it’s ‘demeaning to women’.

This is how it was described on inentertainment.co.uk: Conar – the Brazilian advertisement regulatory body – has apparently got rules that state “appeals to sensuality won’t constitute the principal content of the message,” and “advertising models won’t be treated as sex objects.”

In Paris Hilton’s beer ad for Devassa Bem Loura she appears in a glass-walled apartment, wearing a little black dress. She then goes to the fridge, and gets out a can of Devassa beer.

Paris then proceeds to rub the cold can over her body, doing so provocatively while a crowd gathers below to watch.

Personally I don’t think it is very demeaning, or very sexy for that matter, but you can make your own mind up by looking at the video below.

I know this website is always looking for reasons to believe that beer and wine are good for you, and I have now found further proof!

A publican in Gillingham was stabbed by an angry customer after a band night in his pub, and the doctor told him that he may have died if he didn’t have a beer belly!

Snaz Martin said: “I could have died but my organs were protected by a bit of extra fat.

“I’m not massive by any stretch of the imagination – I only weigh 13stone. But I do have a beer belly and they’re saying that’s what saved me.”

“I couldn’t believe it when he said my beer belly saved me – all I could do was laugh.”

His attacker was jailed for four years, but it was lucky for him that Snaz had a beer belly too, or he could have got life!

Someone who desires to brew some homemade wine, no matter if they are a beginner or an authority, must reason clearly in relation to a few important things ahead of preparing a gallon (or five!) of wine.

The first, and most imperative, detail is to make certain that all your containers and utensils are utterly sterilised.

Irrespective of whether you are preparing economical homemade wine from fruit juice, or an expensive specialist wine-making package, the last thing you want is for it to be flawed as a result of one stray morsel of microbe.

Every one your demijohn’s or carboys ought to be fully sterilised throughout, before and after every batch that you make.

Furthermore as well don’t forget the surfaces where you will be working. Would you would like to do your preparations inside a litchen just after someone has made some chips and sprayed the atmosphere with salt and vinegar?

Secondly one should take into consideration the optimum position for your wine to be bubbling away after it is all set. You need to make sure that wherever you select is free from contamination, plus even more importantly, is it going to be kept at a comfortable temperature to aid the fermentation procedure.

For example, you wouldn’t wish for it to be started within a garden shed at the start of wintry weather, when you no doubt know that temperature is certain to plummet before the fermentation finishes.

The simple rule is if the ambient temperature feels warm enough for you, then a fermenting wine will probably be contented too. A warm and content yeast is certain to be a hardworking yeast!

Then, it’s essential to make sure that you have each of the ingredients standing by and at hand before you get down to it, particularly if you are going to require specialist ingredients like tannin, pectolase or citric acid. Ensure you have double-checked the full recipe are ready to go. Obviously a good wine-yeast and some yeast nutrient is definitely an absolute must.

Also you must make sure you have a hydrometer available, and you have fully read and understood the directions on how to benefit from it. Using this key tool is the only sure way that you will know exactly just how much potential alcohol will likely be in the finished bottle of wine. For experienced cheap wine makers, a rule of thumb is to have around one kilo of sugar for each gallon of wine that you are intending to make.

So if you have taken care of all these simple but crucial things, then you are just about ready to begin brewing your homemade wine.

Enjoy!

There is something about pubs with drunkards that seem to be the most common butt of jokes. Everyone appreciates a funny story that starts “A gentleman walks into a bar” (and says Ouch!) and there’s no doubt that drunks usually are exceedingly entertaining. Therefore listed below are a number of bar jokes that you may not have heard previously, however they are all extremely witty, I assure you!

THE CRAZY BET WITH THE BARMAN
A gentleman walks up to the bartender and claims, “Do you observe that glass over there in the corner? I am going to bet you £50 that I can piss in it from here!” The barman says yes, since the glass is miles way over at the other area of the bar. So the guy unzips and whips it out, then pisses in a million different directions, coming nowhere even close to the shot glass. Meanwhile the barman is laughing so hard he can hardly breathe.

“Pay up,” gasps the barman, and happily takes the money.

Meanwhile the guy pays up, and strolls over then takes £200 from a third man playing pool.

The barman calls him back and demands, “Why would that man give you the money?”

And the original man states, “‘Cause I bet him £200 that I can piss all over your pub and you’d merely laugh about it!”

SEXY LADY IN A QUIET LOCAL BAR
A rather eye-catching lady goes up to the bar in a quiet neighborhood pub.

She gestures alluringly in the direction of the barman, who comes over without delay. Once he arrives, she seductively signals for him to bring his face close to hers. As soon as he does so, she begins to gently stroke his beard, which is full and bushy.

“Are you the boss she purrs, tenderly stroking his face with both hands.

“Actually, no” he replies.

“Can you get him for me — I must to talk to him.” She is running her hands up further than his beard and into his hair.

“I’m afraid that I can’t,” breathes the bartender, plainly aroused. “Is there anything I can do?”

“Yes, there is. I need you to give him a message,” she continues huskily, popping a couple of fingers into his lips and allowing him to suck them gently.

“Tell him that there is no toilet paper in the ladies room.”

THE GUINNESS BOSS AT THE BEER CONFERENCE
After the Great British Beer Festival, in London, all the global brewery presidents decided to go out for a beer.

The man from Corona sits down and affirms, “Hey Senor, I would like the world’s best beer, a Corona.” The barman dusts off a bottle from the shelf and gives it to him.

The gentleman from Budweiser says, “I’d like the most excellent beer in the world, hand over me ‘The King Of Beers’, a Budweiser.” The barman supplies him one.

The gentleman from Coors says, “I’d like the only beer made with Rocky Mountain spring water, present me a Coors.” He gets it.

The man from Guinness sits down and says, “Give me an orange juice.” The bartender is a little shocked, but supplies him what he ordered.

The other brewery presidents look over at him and inquire “Why aren’t you having a Guinness?” and the Guinness president answers, “Well, I guess if you guys are having soft drinks, then so will I.”

These jokes were orinally published at the website Just Jokes Online!
